This version of the procedure focuses only on the lower abdomen, below the navel. It’s best for patients who are mostly happy with the upper abdomen but have a small pocket of stubborn fat or sagging skin in the lower region. The incision is smaller and doesn’t usually involve moving the navel.
For patients who have lost a lot of weight or have loose skin that extends around the hips or lower back, an extended tummy tuck might be recommended. This procedure removes skin and fat from a wider area and can dramatically improve contouring along the waist, hipbone area, and flanks.
A Fleur-de-Lis tummy tuck is designed for patients who have substantial excess skin both vertically and horizontally, often following major weight loss. In addition to the traditional horizontal incision, a vertical incision is made in the center of the abdomen, allowing surgeons to tighten skin across multiple directions for a more sculpted midsection.
This technique targets excess skin and laxity in the upper abdomen. Incisions are made along the lower breast crease, pulling the skin upward rather than downward. It can be ideal for patients who have loose skin above the belly button or are combining their tummy tuck with a breast procedure.
A 360 body lift, also called a circumferential body lift, is a more extensive procedure often recommended for patients after massive weight loss. From Incision to Closure
