48 Procedures ( View All )

There are several reasons why the vagina can lose laxity, weaken, or develop urinary incontinence. Some of these common factors can include childbirth, breastfeeding, menopause, a hysterectomy, and chemotherapy. The Austin-Weston Center for Cosmetic Surgery offers diVa laser vaginal rejuvenation to resurface the tissue of the vagina and help boost collagen production. This nonsurgical treatment can improve the look, elasticity, and function of the vagina and help combat unwanted symptoms in the vaginal area. To learn more about diVa laser vaginal rejuvenation, contact our Reston, VA office to schedule your consultation today.

Procedure technique

Nonsurgical vaginal rejuvenation is performed in one of our private treatment rooms and typically takes just a few minutes with no required anesthesia. The diVa laser device uses a handpiece that is inserted into the vagina and delivers controlled energy pulses into the vaginal tissue. The device uses laser technology to restore the vaginal wall and stimulate the production of collagen. For maximized results, an average of three treatments scheduled about four weeks apart is suggested.

What to Expect

The results of a diVa treatment can typically be noticed almost immediately. However, optimal and finalized results may take several months to appear. Though this procedure does not require the downtime associated with a surgical procedure, patients should abstain from strenuous activity, exercise, sexual activity, and tampon use for the first 48 hours following treatment.

diVa FAQs

Is It Painful?

For most patients, diVa treatments only cause mild discomfort. Since it is less than five minutes for a session, patients are generally fine without any anesthesia. Patients have noted some pressure on the vaginal wall and increased sensitivity during the treatment. For patients who are especially sensitive or concerned, a topical anesthesia may be used after speaking to your doctor.

Is It Safe?

The diVa handpiece uses an automated control system to deliver the proper amount of heat for the right amount of time to achieve results. In addition, diVa is performed with a Strengthened Quartz Dilator that is changed for each patient to avoid any contamination and inconsistencies between treatments.

Proven Results?

In a clinical study, 92% of patients were satisfied with the results of their diVa treatment. In the same study, 85% of patients experienced little to no discomfort and would recommend the treatment to others.

Improving Dryness and Tone?

By stimulating the collagen production in the vaginal tissue, diVa treatments strengthen the tone and thickness of the vaginal wall while also increasing natural lubrication.

How much does DiVa Cost?

DiVa is sold as a package of 3 treatments. The package of 3 treatments costs $3,300. The treatment takes around 1 hour and each treatment is spaced out by around 4 weeks. Some patients may want a ‘touch up’ a few years down the road and the price for a ‘touch up’ is $1,200.

Who is the ideal candidate?

Women who have had children or have experienced menopause and are interested in improving the quality and tone of their vaginal tissues.

Yes. The consultation takes around 15 minutes. One of our providers will discuss your goals, perform an examination and talk with you about whether you are an ideal candidate. In order to have DiVa, you can not be on your cycle, must have a negative Pap smear within 1 year and must not be pregnant.

How does DiVa work?

DiVa is a laser that is used to tighten and firm the vaginal canal. After numbing cream is applied, one of our female providers uses a small handpiece that fits comfortably into the vagina and then gently resurfaces and heats the tissues.

Many patients endorse more pleasurable sex thanks to the tightening of the vaginal canal and improvement in vaginal lubrication. Many also have an improvement in urinary incontinence after the procedure.

You can resume your normal daily activities immediately after DiVa. Restrictions include no vaginal insertions for 48 hours, including tampons, intercourse or douching. Some patients experience mild spotting, cramping or a sunburned feeling for a couple days after the procedure.
