About Laser Skin Resurfacing
Skin resurfacing is a way to remove the most superficial layers of skin and let the deeper cells heal in with new skin that is healthier-appearing. The resurfacing removes fine lines and wrinkles and gives a healthy glow. Halo, the world’s first hybrid fractional laser is our go-to method for skin resurfacing. The latest laser resurfacing technology can eliminate layers of sun-damaged skin and safely remove old skin cells on the face. In addition, it can reduce the appearance of wrinkles and acne scarring. The unique properties of the Halo™ laser allow the removal of thin layers of skin while minimizing damage to the surrounding skin and tissue. Since the Halo™ laser is so precise and provides controlled flexibility, the depth and penetration of the laser on the skin’s surface can be specifically adjusted to meet the individual skin condition of each patient. "The fight against aging is a battle I would not go into with the Team at Austin-Weston! I have been a patient for years, made the introduction to many friends, even family. Savannah Marks has been whipping my skin into shape as of recent and I could not be happier, her hands are magic!"- C.C. / Yelp / Jan 12, 2017

"Don't let the Sweet Southern Charm of Savannah Marks fool you, she takes no prisoners when helping you fight against Father Time. Savannah's attention to detail and passion for her craft is second to none. Savannah stays trained on the latest and greatest technologies, procedures and products that have made such an incredible difference in my 45 year old skin. My Mother started me early on skincare and regular maintenance but it was not until I started seeing Savannah a year ago that people started to comment they were shocked at my age. Hands down Savannah and the Austin Weston team are the best I have ever worked with and I wouldn't want to fight this fight with anyone else."- C.C. / Google / Sep 14, 2017
"Savannah Marks knows skin and people! Her bedside manner, and remedies will leave you feeling fresh and smooth as a baby's bottom. Much more worthwhile for the price than a typical facial."- M.B. / Google / Nov 14, 2017
"Currently doing a series of BBL laser treatments with Savannah Marks for sun damage on my face and chest. The results are dramatic and I can't recommend Savannah enough. She is very thorough and has an amazing numbing cream which makes it only a very light sting with the laser zap and VERY tolerable! Brown spots literally disappear!!"- L.Y. / Google / Jan 14, 2017

What to Expect
Laser skin resurfacing can be superficial or deep, and the deeper the treatment, the longer the recovery. Some laser resurfacing has little to no downtime, and some deeper resurfacing requires topical creams around the clock for a week and then takes weeks to months of pink skin healing in before the final results are seen. Every treatment is tailored to the patient's specific skin conditions and desired outcome. Laser skin resurfacing uses a tiny laser beam to treat thousands of pinpoint areas of the skin. Since only a fraction of the skin is directly treated with the laser, the surrounding untreated tissue promotes rapid healing. The skin’s healing response creates new collagen, adding firmness and resilience to the skin.
Patients may have some redness or swelling for 1–3 days after their procedure, but it is usually mild and easily concealed with makeup for a superficial treatment. After treatment, patients should be careful to avoid direct sunlight and wear sun protection since the skin will be sensitive after the procedure. While most patients will see some results right away, optimal results will appear in 2–3 months as the skin repairs itself. For deeper resurfacing, patients may see redness for weeks, but this can be covered with makeup after the first week of recovery. During the first week the skin will be weepy and swollen and most patients largely stay indoors to heal during this time.
