Is it ever possible to combine body procedures with facial procedures?

Hello Austin-Weston Doctors,

I think this is a ridiculous question, but since we are on the internet I will go ahead and ask it: is it ever possible to combine body procedures with facial procedures, or is this just too much for one surgical session?

Is there a limit to the number of procedures you as a surgeon can do in a single session?

Thank you.

Hi Erica –

It’s actually not a stupid question at all. We often combine facial and body surgeries depending on how extensive they all are.

It’s more about the time under anesthesia than it is about the actual surgery. I generally stop at six hours as complication rates tend to get higher after that.

Sometimes, like today, I even bring in another doctor to help speed the surgery along so that we could do more in the six hours that we have to work with.

I hope this helps!
