Chemical Peels are a process to improve the texture of various parts of the body including the face, arms, hands, legs, neck and chest. A Chemical Peel addresses fine lines on the face, hyperpigmentation (skin discoloration or age spots) found most predominately on the hands, sun damages skin, light freckling and for reducing the look of scars.

A chemical solution of varying strengths and types is placed on the face to remove the damaged outer layer. Once a Chemical Peel has been applied the solution begins the process of peeling the outer surface layers of the skin to stimulate production of new skin cells. Patients are advised to stay out of the sun for up to two weeks and to apply a sunblock before going outside. Redness and swelling of varying degrees can be expected and begin to dissipate during the recovery process.

Chemical peels remove damaged outer layers of skin on the face to smooth texture, reduce scarring, and remove blemishes and pre-cancerous growths to produce healthy, glowing skin. Facial Peels can be combined with other procedures such as facelifts for a younger look. They may be covered by insurance if they are performed for medical rather than cosmetic reasons.
