Rhinoplasty | Nose Surgery - Northern Virginia, Maryland, Washington DC

The board certified plastic surgeons at The Austin-Weston Center for Cosmetic Surgery serving Northern Virginia, Maryland and Washington, DC perform rhinoplasty, nose surgery, or as it is commonly called, a nose job procedure.
Rhinoplasty (nose surgery) generally focuses on the removal of a large nasal hump or the narrowing of the nostrils to improve the shape and size of a patient's nose. This may be done in conjunction with other rhinoplasty or nose surgery procedures to achieve maximum facial balance.
Your Northern Virginia based Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon will evaluate the structure of your nose in relation to your face and discuss in detail your goals and desires.
Computer imaging may be helpful to you and your Austin-Weston Surgeon in determining the right size and shape of your nose for rhinoplasty. Factors that influence the final results include the structure of your nasal bones and cartilage, the shape of your face, the thickness of your skin, and your age.
Rhinoplasty may be performed on female patients as young as 15 or males as young as 17. After a careful examine and evaluation, your board certified plastic surgeons at The Austin-Weston Center for Cosmetic Surgery will make a recommendation as to the proper course of action.
Depending upon the rhinoplasty procedures performed, a splint may be applied to the nose to help maintain its shape. Soft plastic splints may be placed in your nostrils to stabilize the airway and are usually removed in five to seven days.

Exercise and other strenuous activities may be resumed in about two weeks. It is important to avoid hitting or rubbing the nose for approximately eight weeks.
